Our Featured Pet...

Leo

Leo is aptly named- he had that great lion profile! He's going to be one of those big ol' handsome orange cats. Leo had some rough times as a kitten, so he can be a bit shy in loud situations. He's getting better all the time, and is downright outgoing with those of us here at the humane society begging for attention and cuddles. He has the funniest expressions - he's a sensitive and loving kitty. The BRHS adoption fee for cats and kittens is $95.00 plus tax.

News and Events

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! It was just over one year ago we moved into our first physical location at 406 3rd St. in Brookings. Our humble little home has made quite a difference, our adoption numbers have really gone up from past years.

Our available cats stay there full time, dogs come in on Saturdays and by appointment if someone would like to view them during the week. It's an exciting time, achieving a goal that BRHS has been working toward for 8 years. Stop down to see us, check out the facility, meet the animals, and perhaps purchase some of our fun animal merchandise. Our hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 6:00 and Saturdays from 11:00 to 3:00.

BRHS is now saving HyVee grocery receipts. If you shop at HyVee, please hang onto your receipts and get them to us- we can turn them into cash for the animals!

Spay/Neuters available to families with qualifying incomes! BRHS has received a grant to help families get their pets spayed and neutered. The money must be used for spay/neuters on larger dogs 50 pounds and up. So, if you have a Lab or similar sized dog that needs to be "fixed" we are looking for you ! More information and applications can be picked up at Brookings Regional Humane Society at 406 3rd St. We are all very excited about this program and the people and pets that will be helped by it!
